Caring for you every step of the way

Our Approach to Brain and Spine Cancer

A brain or spine tumor is often sudden and unexpected diagnosis, which can leave you searching for answers. The Neuro-Oncology Clinic at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is here for you to offer hope and guidance.

We use the latest technology and treatments, including aggressive treatments, targeted therapies, and less-invasive treatment options. Our specialists have advanced training in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, neuroradiology, neuropathology and neurointensive care.

All of our patients receive care based on the same protocols and practice standards provided at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Because of our partnership, our patients also benefit from integration with MD Anderson clinicians and researchers.

“I strongly believe that to most effectively care for a person you must be aware of all facets of the patient experience. I prioritize your quality of life in my assessments and make treatment recommendations accordingly.”

– ROBERT CAVALIERE, MD, Neurologic Oncologist

Why choose Baptist MD Anderson?

Advanced Treatment & Care

Our patients benefit from an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to care. You will meet with your team of doctors and support staff in one location, reducing the need to travel to several facilities. Your case is then discussed in detail at regularly scheduled tumor conferences attended by all treating physicians and other healthcare professionals. Your nurse navigator is there with you every step of the way to offer education, coordinate appointments, tests and treatments, and offer you and your family support.

Specialized clinics focus on the complex care needed to treat all aspects of your condition.

I never thought at 32 I’d be diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, which is pretty bad from what I hear. But I’m here today so I’m pretty happy about it.
