    JOINT COMMISSION ACCREDITATION

    Joint Commission Accreditation and Certification evaluates the quality and safety of our organization and is recognized nationally as The Gold Seal of Approval® in health care. As part of earning this accreditation, we must undergo an unannounced, thorough on-site review of the quality and safety of care we provide. We must demonstrate our commitment to continuously meeting rigorous national standards. The conclusion of the on-site survey is a validation of the work to continuously comply with The Joint Commission's nationally developed standards.

    ACCREDITED CANCER CENTER

    Accreditation through the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program is granted to institutions committed to providing high-quality cancer care by demonstrating compliance with the CoC standards. The CoC is dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer. The CoC promotes cancer prevention, treatment, survival, and education, and ensures high quality, comprehensive, coordinated cancer care. The CoC also integrates the latest advances in research and technology to help further improve the care cancer patients receive.

  • National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers logo

    ACCREDITED BREAST CENTER

    The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) is granted only to those centers that are voluntarily committed to providing the best possible care to patients with diseases of the breast. Each breast center must undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with NAPBC Standards. To maintain accreditation, centers must monitor compliance with NAPBC Standards to ensure quality care, and undergo an onsite review every three years.

  • National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer logo

    ACCREDITED RECTAL CANCER PROGRAM

    Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center earned a three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. BMDA demonstrated a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, specifically to those with rectal cancer. To achieve NAPRC accreditation, BMDA maintained compliance with the NAPRC standards addressing program management, clinical services and quality improvement for patients.

    AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR RADIATION ONCOLOGY'S APEX - ACCREDITATION PROGRAM FOR EXCELLENCE®

    Accreditation through APEx is a voluntary and rigorous multi-step process during which a facility’s radiation oncology practices are evaluated using consensus-based standards. The center must demonstrate its safety and quality processes and its adherence to patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinated treatments and strong patient engagement.

    JRCERT CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION

    The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology provides accreditation to programs in radiologic sciences, including both traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry. It is the only accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

    LUNG CANCER ALLIANCE

    The Lung Cancer Alliance's Screening Centers of Excellence are committed to responsible, high-quality screening practices. To earn this designation, we must demonstrate and ensure that low-dose CT screening for lung cancer is carried out safely, efficiently and equitably.

    QUALITY ONCOLOGY PRACTICE INITIATIVE (QOPI) CERTIFIED PRACTICE

    Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center earned a three-year certification from QOPI®, the quality program for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). This certification is awarded to outpatient hematology-oncology practices for meeting nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care.
